About the Author

The author of Loose Here: A Story of Secrets, Sin, and the Blood That Binds draws from deep roots in the American South, where stories are currency and silence is its own kind of inheritance.

Growing up surrounded by the rich oral traditions of Southern Black families, the author learned early that every family has a story it tells — and one it doesn't. Loose Here was born from that understanding: the realization that the most powerful stories are often the ones whispered behind closed doors.

This debut novel is a labor of love spanning years of research, interviews, and the careful excavation of family histories that mirror the fictional Favors family. It is a testament to the resilience of Black women, the complexity of faith, and the enduring power of truth.

The author currently resides in the American Southwest, far from the Carolina piedmont — but never far from the stories that shaped everything.
